One hundred years of solitude, Marquez, Educational significance

Abstract

One Hundred Years of Solitude is a novel created by Garcia Marquez, a famous Colombian writer. It is also the representative work of Marquez. The novel is praised as "the reproduction of the historical and social picture of Latin America." One Hundred Years of Solitude stands out in the current of history and is widely spread because of its unique charm. Naturally, the work has a high social significance and has a powerful power to move people and summon humanity. This paper explores this topic from the perspective of individual loneliness, family loneliness and civilization loneliness in combination with his works. As far as individuals are concerned, this paper gives some typical characters to discuss their loneliness; As far as the family is concerned, this paper describes the cycle and decline of the family; From the perspective of civilization, we should com-bine loneliness with Latin America and the real world to study the deeper loneli-ness.
