Abstract

Based on the trend of economic globalization, trade and cross-cultural communication between countries around the world are becoming more and more frequent, which clearly puts forward higher standards and requirements for college English education. Training students cross-cultural translation skills has gradually become the top priority of college English teaching in the new era. However, for a long time, English teachers in colleges and universities have not attached importance to cross-cultural translation teaching, instead they have paid more attention to the teaching of listening, speaking and reading, which has resulted in the inability to train and transport a large number of high-quality translators for the country and society. This paper mainly expounds the importance of training translation ability and the current situation of translation teaching, and discusses the effective strategies for the training of translation skills based on the cultivation of college students cross-cultural ability, for the reference of relevant people.
