Abstract
In recent years, the phenomenon of small class time, fragmented knowledge, and old teaching methods in middle school music teaching has constantly raised questions about the effectiveness of teaching. The phenomenon of knowledge fragmentation and old teaching methods in junior high school music appreciation class still needs to be solved. As a teaching tool, the mind mapping has been widely used in the teaching of many subjects, but less in the music class. This paper combines the newly promulgated "Compulsory Education Art Curriculum Standards" (2022 edition) to illustrate the unique significance of mind mapping for music appreciation teaching by analyzing the value of mind mapping for middle school music appreciation classes, exploring the application of mind mapping in music appreciation teaching, citing specific examples of the mind mapping method, and elaborating the advantages of using mind mapping for music appreciation teaching. With the promulgation of the Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education (2022), the status of music in compulsory education has been raised, and the module of "listening and commenting" has received more attention from teachers.
