Abstract

English as a universal foreign language, it is a tool for people all over the world to communicate, and plays an important role in vocational education. In vocational college, college English is a public course and a generally required course, and every student is required to learn and pass English exam before graduation. However, at present, the motivation of English learning of higher vocational students has decreased, and the motivation for learning has decreased greatly, which has seriously affected the efficiency of English Teaching in higher vocational colleges. This study tries to explore the reasons for the decline of English learning motivation of higher vocational students, and from the perspective of language level, learner level and learning situation, put forward some practical solutions to stimulate the English learning motivation of higher vocational students, improve the interest of higher vocational students in learning English and the efficiency of English teaching, so as to improve the academic performance of higher vocational students.
