Abstract

This paper analyzes the issue of original family in the popular book Educated written by Tara∙Westover. Educated, an account of the struggle for self invention, is a tale of fierce family loyalty and of the grief that comes from severing one’s closest ties. Tara grew up in an extreme family, but she got rid of the constraints of the family through education. Original family is a critical environment for individual growth, which has different degrees of influence on the formation of character, psychological state, behavioral pattern and the establishment of intimate relationships. And learning to reconcile with the original family is an important topic for us. This paper mainly focuses on the analysis of the impact of the original family on children in some aspects and the way to overcome the harm of the original family, in order to trigger people to think deeply about the original family.
